ICT Department of Dr Hilla Limann Tech University Launches Weekly Seminar Series

The Department of Information and Communication Technology of the Dr Hilla Limann Technical University has launched a weekly Seminar Series for faculty members, Students and the public.

The seminar is going to be weekly throughout the Second Semester and beyond.

It Seeks to provide platform to staff of the Department, the students, the professionals in the IT industry and other industry players to show case their research work , applied project works, inventions, and innovative works to the general public.

It will also give students the opportunity to acquire presentation skills and boost their confidence in showcasing their talents and software products to the business world.

Launching the Seminar, the head of Department, Mr Rockson Kwasi Afriyie, says the Seminar series is under the theme “Quality Education and Career Advancement Amidst COVID-19: The role of Technology and Innovation. According to the HoD, the theme is to guide the department in its quest to train students, equip them with skills and adequately prepare them to contribute meaningful in building mother Ghana in particular, and the world at large .

He entreated students to embrace the opportunity presented by the Department and participate fully by attending the subsequent seminars .

Alhaji Ishmeal Zakaria, a Lecturer in the Department, did a presentation on the theme “Quality Education and Career Advancement Amidst COVID-19: The role of Technology and Innovation.

 

He elaborated on the need as IT students to explore using the current pandemic the world is bedeviled with, and use innovative ways to create platforms for easy asses to some services ..

Also in attendance were members of the Department. Mr. Antwi Kwasi Dansieh, the Project Work Coordinator, urged the Students to avoid repeating project works of their predecessors. He also asked Students to follow the prescribed standard in writing their project work report. Also present were Dr. Ernest Ganaa, and Mr. Gilbert Bedzrah.
