Wa Central: Youth Group thanks MP and businessman for supporting communal labour

The youth of Jonga in the Wa Municipality of the Upper West Region has thanked the Member of Parliament for Wa Central constituency, Dr Hassan Rashid Pelpuo and businessman, Alhaji Ali Wonwaana for their support to fix roads in the area.

Some youth of Jonga has organised communal labour on Friday, August 27, 2021, to fix some parts of their untired road destroyed by recent rains.

The rains left most portions of the road uneasy for motorists and other road users lead to the breakdown down of vehicles and motorbikes along the route.

According to the group, who used tricycles (Motor kings) and basic tools like shovels, the MP who is currently out of Ghana, asked them to contact the businessman, after they asked for support in their communal labour, to which he responded positively.

The leader of the group, Mohammed Saamanbo said ” We want our road fixed, we have started on our way through communal labour which has been supported by the MP and Alhaj Ali Wonwaana “.

He also thanked community members for coming out to support the work and called for more intervention.

Some of the youth bemoan the neglect of the government in fixing the road which is left untired for so many years.

” It is like the government has forgotten of this road, we are doing this to remind everyone that the road is in a deplorable state and needs to be, fixed ” a resident Ayaariya said.

They are however calling on the Government to fix the Wa – Jonga road as part of the “second year of roads”.
