A council of State Member for the Upper West Region, Prof Daniel Anlieu-Mwine Bagah led the people of Nyimbale in the Nadowli/Kaleo district to plant trees during the Green Ghana Day.

The people of Nyimbale joined the rest of the nation on the Green Ghana Day to plant 600 seedlings to green their environment.

A total of 10 million seedlings were expected to be planted on forest reserves and 10 million across the country in schools, churches, homes, mosques and public areas.

The theme for this year’s Green Ghana Day exercise is “Mobilizing for a Greener Future”.

According to the Council of State Member, trees are vital to the survival of man while urging the people to follow the tradition of planting trees to benefit the next generation.

“We have benefited from the effort of tree planting by our forbears and it’s our responsibility to do the same for those who come after us” he stressed.
