Pupils of Chegli TI Basic School learn under uncompleted building

Pupils of Chegli TI Basic School are learning under uncompleted building in the Wa Municipality of the Upper West Region.

The project was awarded in 2016 under GET FUND and its yet to be completed after 6 years.

Chegli TI Basic School started with a Kindergarten in 2013 which metamorphosed into Primary and JHS subsequently.

The Primary was largely school under trees and the authorities saw the need to move into the uncompleted building as the lives of teachers and students were threatened by snakes.

The floor of the classrooms are dusty as there are no windows nor doors which distract effective teaching and learning.

Classes are distracted any time there is a strong wind or rain as pupils and teachers close from school to prevent the rain from beating them.

The building is further deteriorating as part of the roof is ripped off by rain storm and some of the walls are caving in.

The situation is affecting teaching and learning as the enrollment in the school keeps dwindling.

The teachers and students are therefore appealing to the Municipal assembly and other stakeholders to come to their aid by completing the project to enhance teaching and learning.
