Support and pray for the government to go through economic challenges- Minister appeals to Muslims

Dr Hafiz Bin Salih, the Upper West Regional Minister has appealed to Muslims to pray for the Akufo Addo led government to steer Ghana through its current economic hardship.

The Minister made the appeal after joining a congregation at the Wa Senior High School on the occasion of the observance of Eid ul Adha.

Government is seeking the support of IMF to salvage the country from economic hardship.

Four teacher unions on Monday, July 4, 2022, declared a strike action over the government’s failure to fulfill their demand for 20% Cost of Living Allowance (COLA).

Apart from the teacher unions, members of organized labour, under the Trade Union Congress have also joined the demand for COLA and are also threatening to strike.

In a Facebook update, Dr Hafiz Bin Salih urged the people to rally their support for the government to salvage the situation.

Scenes from the Wa Senior High Technical School park where I joined fellow Muslims for the Eid Ul-Adha congregational prayer. Sheikh Dr. Sufyan Iddrisu Ahmed led the prayers.

He admonished Muslims to be trustworthy and have absolute trust in Allah. On my part, I appealed to fellow Muslims to support and continue to pray for the government of President Nana Akufo-Addo as we go through these temporary challenges as a nation.

Other prominent Sheikhs at the prayer ground were; Sheikh Gausu, Sheikh Ahmed, Sheikh Abubakar Giiwa, Sheikh Dr. Saiba and Sheikh Anas just to mention but a few. May Allah accept our sacrifices and supplications, Ameen.
