Jamaldeen, who has played every minute for Accra Great Olympics in the 2020/21 GPL season was forced to withdraw from Ghana’s squad ahead of the last two Afcon qualifiers against South Africa and São Tomé.

Jamaldeen’s inclusion in the preliminary Black Stars squad was as a result of his exploits in the Ghana Premier league and football loving fans in the Upper West Region were delighted to see their son rise to that level.

“I would have been part of Black Stars final list for the just ended Total AFCON qualifiers but i picked an injury in a preparation match against Legon Cities” He stated to Home Radio Sports desk in an exclusive interview on phone.

The Wa-Jengbeyiri born is a delight to watch at Accra Great Olympics this season. He is a modern day center back with attributes such as positional awareness and accurate passes.

His ability to observe and break counter attacks from opponents saw him feature prominently for Accra Great Olympics.

The hope of every Ghanaian player in or outside Ghana is to don the Senior National team jersey one day and the injury for Jamaldeen is such a painful one.

The rising star will have to work on the injury and return to his utmost best before he will have a chance of another call up to the Black stars ahead of the 2022 Afcon tournament and 2022 World cup qualifiers.

With the injury blow to the young defender, the Upper West Region had two of its stars who made the cut and subsequently had their debut for the Black stars.

The duo of Ishmail Abdul Ganiu and Ibrahim Moro played pivotal role to aid Ghana seal qualification to the 2022 Afcon tournament.
