The state of roads in Sissala West can be described as disaster- DCE

Aisha Imoru Batong Hor, the District Chief Executive for Sissala West has described the state of roads in the district as disaster.

Speaking at a general meeting organized by the Upper West Regional Coordinating Council (UWRCC), the DCE bemoaned the sorry state of roads in the area as they are inundated with what she described as manholes and potholes.

She also indicated that the bitumen in the district capital (Gwollu) is washed off and some culverts at Zini have also been broken.

On the state of infrastructure in the district, the DCE said “there are five uncompleted GETFUND projects awaiting completion; work has stalled on two water systems at Pulima and Fielimua”

“Work on the Jeffisi bridge is ongoing; work on the Kandia bridge is completed; projects under DAFC has been completed waiting payment.”

She added that work on the agenda 111 has stalled and the consultant at site pledged to report the delay to the appropriate department.

On extension of electricity, Madam Aisha Imoru revealed that “rural electrification in five communities is progressing steadily.”
