Heroic Welcome For Rashid Pelpuo On His Return To Upper West After His Historic Election As President Of African Parliamentarian Forum On Population
Member of Parliament for Wa Central Constituency Hon Dr. Hasan Rashid Pelpuo enjoyed a heroic welcome on his return to his constituency after his recent election as President of the African Parliamentarian Forum on Population and Development.
The seasoned lawmaker capped a dream political ascension with a place at the pinnacle of African politics in an election which to place in Ethiopia this Month.
The Wa Central Legislator shook off competition from his other African Parliamentarians to win the Presidential seat for Population and Development caucus.
On his return to the region on July 30, 2022, he was received by scores of people, Party executives, and sympathizers of Hon. Dr. Hassan Rashid Pelpuo flooded the principal streets of Wa with party paraphernalia to celebrate with their MP.
His first visit when he touched down in the region was at the Wa Naa Palace, then to the Yeri Naa, the Regional Chief Imam’s office and the head of the Ahmadiyya Mission in the region.
Hon. Dr. Hassan Rashid Pelpuo, who was elected for the fifth time as a lawmaker, pledged to use his new office to project the name of Wa and facilitate developmental projects.
He has been the Wa Central Member of Parliament since 2004 after replacing Hon Mumuni Abudu Seidu on December 7, 2004.
He has served in key positions in Parliament and government during his 16-year spell as a Member of Parliament for the Wa Central Constituency.
