The Wa Police Command has opened an inquiry into the killing of a 62-year-old man at Kpaguri in the Wa Municipality of the Upper West Region.

A news release issued on July 31, 2022, and signed by the head of public affairs, chief inspector Gideon Ohene Boateng, said that Mumuni Jatoe, a private security guard, had been discovered dead in a shallow grave in an unfinished building next to his place of business.

The dead departed for work on Friday, July 29, in the evening, and did not come back on Saturday. So a search party was organized to look for him.

He was reportedly found in a shallow grave with his stomach slashed open by some dishonest attackers.

According to the statement, the Municipal Environment Health Directorate, which was on the scene, helped the police dig the body and move it to the mortuary at the Wa Regional Hospital.

The public was urged to cooperate with the authorities by offering vital information that might lead to the offenders’ detention.

The most recent murder sent chills through the community because it is the third killing that has been reported in the municipality this year.

They are thus encouraging all law enforcement and security organizations to work more to keep the situation under control.
