By Erasung Tajudeen

Raymond Naro, the Municipal Chief Executive for the Nandom Municipal Assembly, has handed over the site for the construction of a new ambulance station for the Municipality of Nandom.

Construction company Zaabe & Sons LTD was given the project, which included 1NO 2-Unit offices, a watch room, and ancillary facilities.

The project is anticipated to be finished by November of this year, which will relieve the burden on the staff of the Ghana National Ambulance Service in the municipality and reduce congestion at the National Fire Station Office.

The In Charge of the municipal ambulance service stated, “We assumed the promise made by the MP and MCE won’t come to light, but today we are thrilled and grateful to MCE and the member of parliament, Hon. Ambrose Dery for delivery on their pledge.

He went on to say that the Nandom Municipal Assembly was the first Municipal Assembly in the upper west to consider building offices for the ambulance service. He urged the contractor to use all of his skills to finish the project within the four-month window.

The Nandom Fire Service Deputy Commander also promised to assist the contractor in any way necessary to finish the job on time.

Furthermore, according to the MCE, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo, the president of the republic, commissioned 307 ambulances as part of the one district, one ambulance initiative, with Nandom Municipal being one of the beneficiaries. Since then, the municipality’s officers have struggled to find offices to carry out their duties, so the municipality feels it is necessary to build an office for the ambulance service unit in order to realize the President’s vision.

Then, as part of his efforts to ensure that the constituents had access to potable water in all areas within the municipality, he commissioned a borehole for the community of Tanpelle.

Additionally, he checked out the 4.6 km of Puffien road that connects Nandom Segru to Puffien-Tangzu, Baagangn, and the Hamile major road, as well as the 1.5 km of Biregangn road that connects the Dondometng and Puffien roads.
