“Take steps to impose curfew in Wa and it’s environs”- Wa Naa Spokesperson urges REGSEC

Jinpenhi Naa Kadiri Ibrahim, the spokesperson of the overlord of the Waala Traditional Area has urged the Upper West Regional Security Council to take steps to impose a curfew in Wa and its adjoining communities in response to rising cases of murder in the Municipality.

Addressing a group of protesters at the forecourt of the Wa Naa Palace, Naa Kandiri suggested that a curfew should be imposed in the Wa Municipality to restore peace and security.

“Call on the regional minister and members of the regional security council to take steps to get the minister for the interior to impose a curfew on Wa and its immediate environs with effect from today and also to get the number ten mechanized battalion stationed in was here to get onto the streets and all corners and sections of the township to help the police in doing night patrols of our town so that in the long run our peace and security will be restored.” He revealed.

“I am assuring everybody that come tomorrow morning, his majesty the overlord has invited every subordinate chief, to come alongside their landlords so that they look seriously again into this canquor that has befallen our dear society.”

The youth in Wa is protesting after the latest killing of a security guard which brings the number to nine in the last four months.
