Wa Central MP blames government for hardship

The Member of Parliament for Wa Central Constituency, Dr Rashid Pelpuo has lamented over the high cost of living in Ghana.

According to him, the hardship is borne out of the inability of the government to create employable avenues for the average Ghanaian to earn a living.

He also blamed the government for the unfair distribution of resources which has hugely  contributed to the sufferings of Ghanaians.

Speaking to Waris Annaakaa on Home Radio’s socio political show, Tegyaayela, the legislator admonished the government to introduce pro poor interventions to better the lives of the people.

While on Twitter, Hon Dr Rashid Pelpuo lamented how the economy has deprived the ordinary Ghanaian of solving their immediate problems.

He said it is worrying to see the ordinary Ghanaian struggle to raise money for farming, pay bills, school fees and other daily expenses.

“The economy is hard. People cannot even solve their problems including school fees, farming.”

The MP tasked government to implement policies to alleviate the sufferings of Ghanaians which will pave the way for development countrywide.

“People don’t have to suffer. It is good for the government to empower the people to prevent the people from approaching individuals for help. It does not engender development.” Dr Rashid Pelpuo stated

“People should be able to do whatever work they wish to do in order to take care of their immediate needs, be it paying school fees, farming or helping the society.” he reiterated

He said it is the responsibility of the government to make sure the lives of the people are safe and better.

“Before you aspire to become the president of Ghana, you should know that the resources that will be entrusted in your hands should be used to develop the people. If you are therefore controlling all the resources in Ghana and you cannot empower the people, you are not fit to be the president” the lawmaker pointed out.

Dr Rashid Pelpuo said development is a shared responsibility and enjoined individuals to invest in the society to complement the efforts of the government.
