MTN TO INVEST US$1BN ON NETWORK INVESTMENT BY 2025

Ghana’s leading telecommunication company MTN is poised to maintain its network leadership by spending one Billion US Dollars in the next three years.

The company is therefore investing $1billion by 2025 to help address network challenges across the country particularly in rural communities.

The initiative will form part of the company’s efforts to transform it’s network and ensure coverage extension across the country.

This came to light at the annual editor’s forum held at Dellagio hotel organised by MTN for the media and stakeholders in the Upper West Region.

The forum brought together editors from various Media houses and stakeholders in the Region.

Challenges facing the telecommunication giants and measures taken to deal with them were delibrated by the global telecommunication giants.

The acting corporate services officer of MTN, Mrs Georgina Asare Afiagbenu noted that MTN Ghana’s 4G network now covers all the 260 districts of the country.

 

She indicated that the company is planning to deploy 400 new sites in rural areas and upgrade 746 sites to 4G network.

 

She said MTN has contributed GHC 3.1bn to the county’s revenue since it’s existence in the country and has provided over 500,000 Jobs to the Ghanaian youth through its ecosystem of partnership.
