Wa West Best farmer calls on the government to reintroduce school farms
Mr. Jacob Kulo Foung, the Wa West district’s overall best farmer for 2022, has urged the government to reinstate the school farm system.
Mr. Jacob revealed this in an exclusive interview with Home Radio News at his hometown of Bakpaateng.
He claimed that the pupils would be able to learn more about farming with the return of the school farm system.
He thinks that the school farm program is the most effective way to instill a lifelong love of farming in children.
He said that the advantages of establishing a school farm system cannot be overstated because it will boost the agricultural industry and also supply food for the pupils.
He made the point that the approach would improve student morale in agriculture and lower the government’s food expenses for the various institutions.
He bemoaned the present state of the educational system and stated “I do not see the paper, paper learning only in schools without the practical aspect can help our generations in the agric sector.”
