UWR: Former NDC Regional Treasurer declares intention to contest Wa East Parliamentary Primaries
Former Upper West NDC Regional, Prince Razak Tachi has declared his intention to contest in the upcoming parliamentary elections in the Wa East Constituency.
Razak Tachi who served as the Upper West NDC Regional Treasurer for eight years made this known in a press release on Friday, January 20th, 2023.
He revealed he will pick the nomination forms when the party officially opens for nominations on Wednesday, 22nd February 2023.
Mr. Razak added that his decision to contest is a result of widespread calls from some youth groups in the Wa East Constituency.
According to him, his project of transformation is anchored on three thematic areas ie,
1. Youth Empowerment
2. Creating opportunities for young people’s entrepreneurship
3. Enhancing the living necessities of good people of Wa East Constituency through education.

DECLARATION OF INTENT
John Q. Adams once said, “If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more, and become more, you are a leader.”
The past weeks and months have been exciting yet, echoing.
Firstly, I wish to use this opportunity to convey my profound and honest gratitude to everyone, particularly, party members who believed, and supported me in diverse ways, during my eight-year tenure in office as Regional Treasurer for our great party, the National Democratic Congress, in the Upper West Region. May the good Lord bless all of you in a multitude of folds, your prayers, time, wisdom, and resources, spent on me.
I have over the past few weeks and months been considering a hearty appeal from a group of
young people and constituents of our great party, the NDC, from my adored constituency, the Wa East, to consider running for the office of Member of Parliament for the constituency in
the 2024 Presidential and Parliamentary elections. The genuine love expressed by these
inhabitants, companions, and compatriots in the constituency is reckoning and overwhelming. After a profound introspection and consultations on the appeal, I have resolved and gladly so, decided to put forward myself, to run for the office of Member of Parliament for the Wa East constituency on the ticket of the great National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the 2024 general elections, after a successful parliamentary primary.
I, therefore, wish to declare openly, my intention to pick nominations to contest as Parliamentary Candidate, on the ticket of our great party, the National Democratic Congress, when the nominations are officially opened on Wednesday, 22nd February 2023. My vision to lead you, the good people of Wa East in Parliament, from January 2025 is
dubbed; #THE WA EAST PROJECT.
This project is anchored on three thematic areas;
1. Youth empowerment
2. Creating opportunities for young people through entrepreneurship
3. Enhancing the living necessities of the good people of Wa East Constituency through
education throughh the Wa East project, I intend to commit to the aforementioned via Education, Entrepreneurship, Apprenticeship, and Providing Logistical and Financial support to farmers in the constituency, under the MP’s Agric modernization framework.
Finally, I wish to call on all party members, especially our highly distinguished delegates, my supporters, as well as all well-wishers to embrace and support the WA EAST PROJECT. Our
the constituency has been left behind for far too long and we have this singular opportunity to change our bizarre narrative.
