Lawra MP donates relief items to Eremon SHTS

Lawyer Bede Ziedeng, the Member of Parliament for Lawra Constituency in the Upper West Region has donated relief items to Eremon Senior High Technical School following a fire disaster that burned down the girl’s dormitory.

The donation which was partly funded by his partners and family was delivered to school on Wednesday 15 February, 2023.

The items included 170 pieces of students mattresses, 10 sawing machines, 9 bags of Gari, 170 pieces of bathing towels and 170 pieces of sanitary pads valued at GHC 75,100.

In a short interaction with the staff and students of the school, the lawmaker admonished the students to avoid using electrical gadgets through illegal connections.

According to him, he was devastated when he heard the news, and he brought the attention of Parliament to the matter through a statement to the legislative house for urgent consideration of the matter.

He revealed that the GETFund administrator will be visiting the school as soon as possible to ascertain the extent of damage as well as take steps to rehabilitate the affected facilities.

He thanked other stakeholders who donated assorted items to the school in response to the damage caused by the ravaging fire.

The Municipal Education Director for Lawra, Madam Paulina Azanbawu lauded the Member of Parliament for his support to the school to continue its academic activities without fail.

Madam Paulina Azanbawu used the opportunity to Lament the bad behavior of some students in the school, and cautioned them to stop or face the consequences when caught doing any criminal act.

The Headmaster of Eremon SHTS Mr. Ibrahim Issa Shaibu was appreciative of the Lawra legislator for the swift response to the disaster that befell the school.

He called on the Member of Parliament for more support in the school particularly the Home Economics department with the necessary equipment to enable them to write final examinations.
