Group pays nomination form fee for Wa West MP in NDC parliamentary primaries

The cost of the nomination form for the Member of Parliament for Wa West constituency, Hon. Peter Lanchene Toobu, was paid on Wednesday, February 22, 2023 by a pro-NDC youth group going by the name Progressive Youth for Wa West Development.

The leader of the group, Mr. Chris Bambari, stated in a press release in Wichiau that Hon. Peter Lanchene Toobu is a national asset and has demonstrated beyond a shadow of a doubt that he is a developmental MP and a man of success for the people of Wa West.

He said that during the first term of the Member of Parliament, numerous projects had been done in the constituency across all sectors, and he should be commended for his dedication to the area.

Mr. Chris Bambare claims that the Member of Parliament has performed at a level that places him as the fourth-best MP in Ghana and the top MP in the region.

He said it was prudent to give the Wa West legislator their full support for a subsequent chance to continue his good work in the constituency.

The group also contributed GHC 5,000 in cash to help the member of parliament with his campaign.

He called on the delegates in the constituency to vote for the Member of Parliament to roll out more developmental projects to open up the constitiency.

Mr. Salima Alhassan, a former constituency Secretary who received the money on behalf of the MP thanked the group for the support while calling for peace and unity in the party for the 2024 elections.

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) will hold its presidential and parliamentary primaries on Saturday, May 13, 2023, to elect a flagbearer and parliamentary candidates for the 2024 elections.

Aspirants are expected to pick up forms from the party’s constituency offices from the 22nd to 24th of February.

The party’s doors will be opened for submission of forms from the 20th to 22nd March 2023.

Vetting of the Presidential aspirants will also take place from 27th to 29th March.

Fee charges for picking up forms go for GH¢5000 while the filing fees go for GH¢40,000.

However, the party has stated that women and persons living with disabilities will pay 50% of all charges should they decide to pick up forms to contest.
