NDC Decides: Dr. Rashid Pelpuo maintains slot for election 2024

The incumbent Member of Parliament for Wa Central, Dr Rashid Pelpuo has been re-elected parliamentary candidate for the NDC in the next elections.

Three parliamentary aspirants contested the incumbent Member of Parliament who won the race for the sixth consecutive time.

Dr. Rashid Pelpuo polled 871 votes with his closest contender, Alhaji Hudu Moqtari polling 708 votes.

Lawyer Wahid Bampuori also had 104 votes while Lawyer Mutiu Rahaman polled 91 votes.

The victory for Dr. Rashid Pelpuo means that he has won every parliamentary primary that he has contested since the constituency was created in 2004.

In his victory speech, Dr. Rashid Pelpuo said the determination of his contenders was admirable while calling for a collective effort to win the 2024 election.

He said he is willing to work along with his contenders in seeking some other opportunities that can help them work as seriously as Members of Parliament.

He said his election as the 2024 parliamentary candidate is a victory for all including his contenders.

Meanwhile, the Wa Central Constituency gave John Dramani Mahama an overwhelming endorsement in the Presidential primary. The results are seen below.

2. Kojo Bonsu- 49

3. Kwabena Duffuor- 10
