Wa West MP Initiates Construction of Children’s Ward at Dorimon Health Center

The Member of Parliament for Wa West Constituency, Hon. Peter Lanchene Toobu, ceremoniously broke ground for the construction of a Children’s Ward at Dorimon Health Center.

The event, held on January 7, 2024, marked a significant step toward enhancing healthcare services in the Dorimon Traditional areas.

During the short ceremony at the Dorimon Health Center premises, Mr. Dalo Kareem, the In-charge of the health center, highlighted the community’s initiative to address the challenges faced by the facility, serving a population of 16,000 people in the Dorimon catchment areas and the entire Dorimon Traditional Council.

Mr. Kareem expressed gratitude for the MP’s earlier contributions, including a donation of Ghc 5,000 that was utilized to produce the necessary blocks for the project.

Notably, the MP’s support extended to the laboratory health center and other health screening exercises.

In a pre-sod-cutting interaction with Chiefs and residents, Hon. Peter Lanchene Toobu reaffirmed his commitment to supporting the project in collaboration with the community until its completion.

He further pledged an additional Ghc 5,000 to kickstart the building process immediately.

The Assembly members in the Dorimon Traditional areas, led by Mr. Saaka Fuseini, commended the MP for his generous support.

They appealed to him to assist in upgrading the Dorimon Health Center to a Polyclinic status, recognizing the positive impact it would have on the community.

Mr. Saaka took the opportunity to express his gratitude to the entire Dorimon Traditional areas for entrusting him and other representatives with their votes in the district assembly.

Wa West District Health Director Madam Cecilia Kakariba, represented by Mr. Halidu, a Disease Control officer from the District Health Directorate, extended appreciation to the Member of Parliament for his continuous support and contributions to the health sector in the district.

Madam Kakariba also raised awareness of transportation challenges faced by health workers and appealed to the MP for motorbikes to facilitate their work and ensure the delivery of quality services.
