Hon. Dr. Rashid Pelpuo, Ghana’s Minister for Labour, Jobs, and Employment, visited the manufacturing site of Virupaksha Pharmaceuticals in Telangana, India, to explore potential partnership opportunities and learn from the company’s expertise in pharmaceutical manufacturing.
Chief Abdul Salam Selorm Morgan Agbortui, who is leading the investors to Ghana and also Lawyer Samira Abdul-Azeez, deputy Chief Executive Officer of Ghana Enterprise Agency ( GEA) joined the Hon Minister in the trip as part of plans to secure external partnership.
During his visit, Minister Pelpuo was impressed by the company’s state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities, which adhere to international quality standards. He expressed interest in collaborating with Virupaksha Pharmaceuticals to enhance Ghana’s pharmaceutical manufacturing capabilities, potentially leading to the local production of essential medicines.
The minister’s visit to the manufacturing site provided valuable insights into the company’s production processes, quality control measures, and regulatory compliance. This knowledge sharing is expected to benefit Ghana’s pharmaceutical industry, enabling the country to improve its manufacturing capabilities and meet international quality standards.
