The Member of Parliament for Wa Central and Minister for Labour, Jobs and Employment, Hon. Dr. Rashid Hassan Pelpuo, has once again demonstrated his unwavering commitment to his constituents by donating 230 bags of sugar — each weighing 50 kilograms — to the Muslim Ummah in the Wa Central Constituency ahead of the holy month of Ramadan.
The donation, valued at several thousands of Ghana cedis, is intended to support Muslim faithful in the constituency as they prepare to observe one of Islam’s most sacred periods of fasting, prayer, and reflection.

In a gesture that has now become a hallmark of Dr. Pelpuo’s representation, the annual contribution underscores his deep-rooted connection to his constituents and his sensitivity to the cultural and religious lives of the people he serves. The yearly act has earned him considerable goodwill among residents, who regard his continued support as a reflection of genuine leadership.
The items were presented on behalf of the Minister by Alhaji Ali Wonwana, who conveyed Dr. Pelpuo’s warm wishes and solidarity with the Muslim community during the blessed season.
Receiving the donation, the Treasurer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Wa Central Constituency, speaking on behalf of Chairman Alhaji Sidick Famina, the Executive Committee, and the entire membership of the NDC in the constituency, expressed deep appreciation to the MP for what they described as a consistent and commendable show of care.
The sugar is earmarked for distribution across every branch of the party, select party wings, and other prominent individuals within the constituency — ensuring that the gesture reaches as wide a cross-section of the community as possible.
As Ghana’s Muslim population joins millions of believers worldwide in welcoming Ramadan, Dr. Pelpuo’s donation stands as a timely reminder of the role that community-minded leadership can play in uplifting the faithful during moments of spiritual significance.
