Angsongna Banangmwine Claudius, popularly known as ABC, has officially declared his intention to contest for the position of Deputy Regional Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Upper West Region.

In his declaration, Claudius described his bid as more than just a personal ambition, positioning it instead as a project for regional integration, youth empowerment, opportunity sharing, unity, and stronger grassroots engagement.

Speaking to party members, including the Honourable Regional Minister, Regional Executives, Constituency Executives, and all loyal party faithful, he stressed the need to uphold the NDC’s core values of social justice, inclusiveness, and collective progress in leadership.

“Politics is not about personal gain,” Claudius said. “It is about creating opportunities, lifting each other up, building stronger communities, and ensuring that no member is left behind.”

Should he be elected, Claudius pledged to work closely with all party structures — from the regional level down to constituencies and branches — to promote unity and drive collective success. He highlighted his commitment to:

– Development and innovation
– Youth mobilization and capacity building
– Administrative efficiency and transparency
– Unity and cohesive party organization

He envisions a Regional Secretariat that is responsive, well-organized, inclusive, and proactive — one that will strengthen the party’s internal structures, energize its base, and make the Upper West Region a model of excellence within the NDC.

Claudius therefore called on all party faithful, particularly delegates, to support his agenda of inclusiveness, opportunity, and regional development.

“Let us unite. Let us organize. Let us build,” he urged.

The announcement comes at a time when the NDC in the Upper West Region is riding high after sweeping all 11 parliamentary seats in the 2024 general elections. With the party now in government, competition for key internal positions like Deputy Regional Secretary is expected to be keen.

Claudius’ entry into the race brings fresh attention to the upcoming regional executive elections, with many believing his focus on youth development and administrative efficiency will appeal to both young members and those keen on modernizing party operations.

Party insiders say delegates will be looking closely at aspirants’ grassroots experience and organizational abilities as the contest heats up.

More updates on the NDC Upper West Region executive race will follow as the process unfolds.
