On Monday, August 3, 2026, the Member of Parliament for Lawra Constituency, Hon. Bede Ziedeng, generously presented medical consumables valued at Ghc 100,000 to the Lawra Municipal Hospital, with the aim of significantly bolstering healthcare delivery.
The donated items encompassed Surgical Gloves, Disposable Gloves, syringes, gauze, cotton, laboratory reagents, sutures, infusion-giving sets, and a comprehensive range of other essential supplies.
This significant contribution by the Member of Parliament comes as a fulfillment of a promise made after the Hospital’s Medical Director, Dr. Musah Ziblila, had previously appealed for his support. Prior to this donation of consumables, the MP had already supported the hospital with an amount of Ghc 60,000 for the renovation of its theater and also procured a projector for the facility. All these interventions are strategically geared towards the improvement of healthcare delivery at the hospital.
Hon. Bede Ziedeng reassured the Medical Director and the hospital staff of his unwavering commitment to heeding their concerns and finding effective ways to address some of the challenges confronting the hospital in terms of healthcare provision.

Dr. Musah Ziblila, Medical Director of the Lawra Municipal Hospital, who formally received the donated items on behalf of the hospital management, expressed his profound gratitude for the benevolent gesture from the Member of Parliament for the constituency. He emphasized that these essential supplies would significantly contribute to the facility’s ability to deliver superior healthcare to patients, thereby alleviating the burdens on patients and their relatives seeking treatment at the hospital.
Dr. Musah Ziblila took the opportunity to highlight some of the persistent challenges facing the hospital, such as the burden of legacy debts, and consequently issued a fervent plea for broader support from all quarters to aid in the hospital’s recovery.
On her part, Madam Cecilia Soyelleh, the Municipal Chief Executive, who was also present at the event, lauded the MP for his swift intervention in donating these consumables, which will undoubtedly alleviate some of the pressing challenges faced by the hospital. She further assured that the assembly is actively working to acquire an ambulance to enhance patient referral services at the facility.
The MCE implored the hospital staff to ensure that the donated items are utilized judiciously for their intended purposes and are properly accounted for.
