Lawyer Wahid Iddrisu Bampuori, a private legal practitioner, has made it clear that, he will spearhead the movement for change if elected to represent the Wa Central Constituency in parliament.

Speaking to the media after filing his nomination forms yesterday, the astute Lawyer said his decision to contest the parliamentary primary is a continuation of what was started thirty years ago to use democracy as a vehicle to develop the people.

He was accompanied by his wife and a section of his supporters who were mostly delegates in a calm fashion.

“We started this journey 30 years ago in 1992. We started the journey to make sure that democracy becomes the way of life for Ghanaians. This day is just a continuation of what we started 30 years ago to sustain democracy and use democracy as a vehicle to develop our people.” he reiterated.

“We are suffering. We are in dire need of water, electricity, and jobs. We don’t have work for our young people. Today is just another beginning to try and achieve what our forefathers have sort to achieve for us; freedom and development because of that I am here today. Democracy is a way of life. 30 years ago, I didn’t stand for the parliamentary election.”

“Anybody who is bold enough to remember knows that I fought for Ghana. I have always fought for Ghana. This is the smallest battle I am having.”

Lawyer Wahid Bampuori who is contesting the primary for the second time assured that the constituency will receive its share of the national cake if given the nod to represent the people.

According to him, there is suffering in the constituency mainly because of the lack of influential leaders to push for what the constituency deserves.

“They should expect me to lead the charge for change. We are going to change Wa for the first time in the last 30 years since we started this democracy. We are going to try and make sure that Wa becomes part of Ghana. We will make sure that what is deserving of Wa Central will come to Wa Central directly.”

“When we say that we have a common fund for education, it will go to education. It will not go into politics. We will use what we have and go to Accra and fight for what we deserve.”- he intimated.
