The Minister for Labour, Jobs and Employment Dr Rashid Pelpuo has received the Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to Ghana, H.E. Hüseyin Güngör, during a courtesy call at the Ministry.
Welcoming the Ambassador, the Hon. Minister expressed appreciation for the visit and highlighted the Ministry’s commitment to deepening diplomatic and development cooperation between Ghana and Turkey.
Ambassador Güngör, in his remarks, conveyed his gratitude for the warm reception and applauded the long-standing relationship between the two nations. He emphasized Turkey’s interest in strengthening ties through experience-sharing, especially in areas aligned with the Ministry’s core mandates, such as labour relations, job creation, and employment development.
He also underscored the importance of fostering public-private partnerships and enhancing bilateral trade, noting that Turkey’s development trajectory presents valuable lessons and collaborative opportunities for Ghana. The Ambassador stressed the need to protect and nurture the existing cordial relationship between the two countries, proposing that strategic measures be adopted to ensure sustained cooperation.
The Hon. Minister, in his response, thanked the Ambassador for his visit and reiterated the Ministry’s readiness to collaborate on projects that advance both nations’ interests. He encouraged the Turkish government and private sector to consider Ghana as a viable partner for all relevant opportunities and initiatives.
He concluded by wishing the Ambassador well in his diplomatic mission and expressed hope that Ghana and Turkey would continue to build even stronger ties in the future.
