Upper West: NDC Youth Wing in Wa West Organizes Communal Labor to Fix Deplorable Road

The Youth Wing of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) in Wa West Constituency organized a communal labor on Sunday, August 25, 2024, to repair the main road linking Wechieu township to Kpafaa Community. The road has been in a deplorable state for over a decade, with the government failing to address the issue.

The Youth Wing, led by Constituency Women’s Organizer Mad. Jenabu Osman and Wechieu Electoral Area Assemblyman Mr. Abudu Abu, were supported by Member of Parliament for Wa West Constituency Hon. Peter Lanchene Toobu. The team filled potholes with stones and gravel to improve road safety and reduce accidents.

Speaking to Home Radio Network, Mad. Jenabu Osman lamented the road’s condition, blaming the NPP government for neglecting the people of Kpafaa Community and Wa West District in terms of road infrastructure and developmental projects. She noted that the only road construction in the area was a bridge built by the previous NDC government, with no subsequent maintenance by the current government.

Mad. Jenabu Osman appealed to the people of Kpafaa and the entire Constituency to vote for John Dramani Mahama and Hon. Peter Lanchene Toobu in the upcoming general elections to bring back the NDC government and improve road projects and initiatives.

Assemblyman Mr. Abudu Abu also expressed concerns about the road’s condition, citing accidents and suffering caused by the poor road. He blamed the NPP government for neglecting the road and urged the people to vote them out of power.

Residents who participated in the exercise expressed gratitude to the Women’s Organizer and her team, supported by the Member of Parliament, for their efforts.
