Wa United FC recorded a resounding 3-1 victory over counterparts Tietaa FC in a pre-season friendly football encounter on Friday, 12th February, 2021.
The Zebras came from behind to win the game in an emphatic fashion with two goals in the opening half and another in the second half.
Tietaa FC opened the scoring in the first few minutes after pouncing on a mistake by Wa United’s goalkeeper to break the deadlock.
Wa United responded in quick fashion by scoring two swift goals to turn the game on its head.
While the equalizer was a stupendous finish from an all round center forward, the second came from the spot.
In stark contrast, Wa United took over proceedings after receiving a pep talk from their coaches during recess.
Coach Kanduma John unleashed two substitutes onto the field at the start of the second half to outsmart his opponent in the dugout.
The white and black gained stability and had lions share of possession and created chances without number.
Wa United’s third goal came as a result of the incessant attacks thrown at their opponent to put gloss on the score line.
Tietaa FC chased shadows for the rest of the game and eventually lost on the day by 3-1.
The Jahan base side will continue their pre-season on Monday as they expect more players to join the train for audition.
