UWR: Regional Minister pleads with Roads Minister to fix Wa-Tumu-Bolga Road

The Upper West Regional Minister, Dr. Hafiz Bin Salih has pleaded with the sector Minister for Roads and Highways, Mr Akwasi Amoako Atta to fix the Wa -Tumu -Bolgatanga road within next four years.

Dr. Hafiz Bin Salih made the appeal when the Minister for Roads and Highways paid a courtesy call on him at the RCC on Tuesday May 18th,2021.

The Roads Minister revealed he was in the Upper West Region to ensure construction work begins on some roads in the Region.

Upper West Regional Minister took the opportunity to remind him of some important road networks that needs attention.

“There is one key road that, I would want you to pay attention to , that is the Wa-Tumu-Bolga Road” he noted.

Dr. Bin Salih reiterated the importance of the road to the Roads Minister and pleaded with him to ensure its completion within the next four years.

“ if you are able to get the road fixed within this four years , it would go a long help us”.

According to Regional Minister, the Ministry of Roads and Highways have awarded 78 roads contracts in the last four years within the Upper West Region.

He further revealed some have been completed, some with contractors on site, while government is preparing to terminate contracts of some contractors who are struggling with some road projects.

The Roads Minister, Akwasi Amoako Atta said his visit to the Upper West Region is a clear demonstration of Government’s intention to improve and fix the roads in the region.
