Dr Hafiz Bin Salih inspects progress of work on Wahabu-Funsi-Yaala road

Dr Hafiz Bin Salih, the Upper West Regional Minister has paid a working visit to the Wa East District to assess the progress of work on the Wahabu-Funsi-Yaala road that was cut off by devastating floods.

The Wahabu-Funsi-Yaala road just like many road infrastructure has been cut off due to torrential rains that has rocked the Upper West Region.

Many parts of the region were cut off from the regional capital, Wa with several hectares of farmlands submerged in water which threatens food security while halting economic activities in the process.

According to the Minister of Roads and Highways, Kwesi Amoako-Atta, government is expected to spend a whopping GHS 50 million to rebuild the damaged road infrastructure in the region.

In his usual updates on his Facebook page, the Minister stayed “Work is ongoing on the Wahabu – Funsi – Yaala road. Sections of the road were recently damaged by the flood but have been fixed by TCP Company Limited, the contractor working on the project.“

”I was at the site to inspect and assess the progress of work. The contractor has done a great job and I am pleased.”

Dr Hafiz Bin Salih previously inspected the extent of work at the Wa-Nadowli Highway and Babile-Lawra Highway and expressed satisfaction with the level of work.

The Upper West Regional Minister has been in the news for pulling the strings in a bid to rebuild the affected roads in record time.
