UWR: I’m happy with the Work done on Roads destroyed by Rains – Dr Hafiz Bin Salih

The Upper West Regional, Dr Hafiz Bin Salih has expressed satisfaction at work done so far on the rehabilitation of roads destroyed by rains last month.

Some major roads and bridges along the Wa-Hamile road that connect the Nadowli-Kaleo district, Jirapa, Lawra, and the Nandom municipalities to Wa the Upper West regional capital were destroyed by rains on August 13, 2021.

Portions of the already deplorable Wa-Tumu road were also washed off to compound the woes of commuters in the upper west region.

To this end, the Ministry of Roads and Highway selected four contractors to reconstruct the damaged roads at a cost of GH¢50m. They are P&W Ghanem Ltd, Ashcal Investment Ltd, Maripoma Ltd and Mawums Ltd,

The Upper West Regional Minister in an interview on Home Radio’s Morning Show ” Sunrise Upper West” on Tuesday, September 7, 2021 revealed he is happy at work done so far, after touring the sites.

“Yesterday, I visited some of our destroyed roads that have been awarded for some works to be done. I am happy with what the contractors are doing and I encourage them to continue on that to fix the situation quickly” – Dr Hafiz Bin Salih.

Dr Hafiz Hafiz Bin Salih added that he has submitted 21 roads to the Ministry Roads and Highways for consideration to help improve the road infrastructure of the Upper West Region.
