There exists limited recreational centers in those days which made life difficult for event organizers.

The edifice which was later christened as Naa Sidiki Bomi Park was built as part of activities in celebrating Ghana @50 and it came as a relief to the people in terms solving the problem of inadequate parks in the region.

Since then, the Naa Sidiki Bomi park has become the most patronized venue for organizing sociopolitical, public, commercial and religious programs.

Unfortunately, the culture of poor maintenance have set in as a visit to the park reveals that night programs can no longer be held as bulbs and sockets have all been damaged with electrical wires being dangerously exposed.

As Home Radio news Albert Dapare took a tour round the facility, the roof of the stands on the immediate right from the main entrance has almost been removed as well as the opposite stand.

Parts of the restaurant facility which is no longer in use is also being ripped off.

The Naa Sidiki Bomi park which shares a wall with the old government residency has part of its wall caving in and the far end of the wall is threatened other deep cracks.

However, the caved in portion has been barricaded with a wire mesh as a stopgap measure.

In about the thirthy minutes (30) tour of the facility, no security was sited and an old man was bizarrely seen defecating in a polytene bag at one end off the facility.

The Naa Sidiki Bomi park is under the care of the Regional Coordinating Council (RCC) and event organizers are usually charged for using the facility.

It is however unclear what the proceeds are used for and when the authorities would get the edifice renovated to avert further deterioration.
