Breaking News : President Akufo-Addo re-nominates Madam Christine Amadu Bombanye and Mr Martin D. Bomba-ire
President Akufo Addo has re-nominated Madam Christiane Amadu Bombanye and Mr Martin Bomba-ire as MMDCE nominees for the Jirapa and Lawra Municipal Assemblies respectively.
The two were rejected by their respective assemblies after two confirmation voting exercises.
Christiane Amadu served as the MCE for Jirapa from 2017-2021 and was nominated for a second tenure by the President.
She has been rejected twice by the Assembly as she failed to secure the two-thirds majority of votes required.
In the two attempts, she pulled 31 votes out of 53 in each of the voting rounds.
Mr Martin Bomba-ire also failed to secure the two-thirds majority required in two different confirmation exercises.
He pulled 23 voted from 42 Assembly votes in his last confirmation exercise.
The two have, however, been given another chance by the President after, it was confirmed by the Upper Regional Minister, Dr Hafiz Bin Salih that the two have been re-nominated.
