Naa Fuseini Seidu Pelpuo IV Enskins Chief Butcher Abu Mumuni Jieri As New Gbendegne Naa
The overlord of the Waala Traditional council Naa Fuseini Seidu Pelpuo IV has enskinned the Chief Butcher Abu Mumuni Jieri as the new Gbende-nge Naa following the demise of Alhaji Seid Jamatutu.
Abu Mumuni Jieri who also doubles as Dagomba Chief(Dagbomba Naa) as well as The Chief Butcher(Nankuohi Naa) has been added a Chieftaincy title by the Overlord of the waala traditional area in a colorful ceremony at the Wa Naa’s palace.
His new Chieftaincy title is “Gbende-nge Naa” and he is set be en-skinned tomorrow morning at the Wa Naa’s Palace which will later follow up to Jieri family house for merry making.
The latest coronation and traditional exercise is expected to strengthen the ties between Waalas and Dagombas in the Upper West region thanks to the rich cultural similarities and bondages.
The Jieri family has been historically described as one of the strongest families and early settlers of the Dagombas in Wa and are predominantly noted for their butchering profession.
Former NDC Wa Central constituency chairman, Alhaji Seidu Jamatutu, was the Gbendenge Naa at the Wa Naa’s Palace up until his surprise demise late last year.
Abu Jieri is one of several other sub chiefs and developmental chiefs crowned by Naa Fuseini Pelpuo IV.
