Preview: Wa United FC vs Zico Babies | Preseason- Friendly

Wa United FC will host their division two counterparts, Zico Babies FC on Sunday afternoon at the Jahan Park on 23rd January, 2022.

The Zebras have played two matches so far to kick start their preseason ahead of the regional league.

Draws against Yakuba select side and Future Stars means the white and black are unbeaten so far in preseason.

The encounter comes a day after their last match and the Jahan based side will look to extend their unbeaten run to three preseason matches.

The last time the two clubs met at the Jahan Park, the match ended in a 5 goal thriller with Wa United FC recording a 4-1 victory.

There is still plenty to work on for Rufai who hasn’t had the majority of his first-team squad following injuries and other issues.

Rufai has had to deal with a large squad in the regional league that has consisted of some first-team members and several new signings.

But after welcoming a large crop of his main stars that he relied on last season, Rufai will be able, and is likely, to bring them back into the fold when the league takes off.

Ibrahim Baba, Marizuk Iddrisu, Tiraah Adams, Subur Nubanie, Ali Issah, Abudu Kaweel, Peter Ninfaah, Alhassan Yussif and other stars will be keen to dust any cobwebs off at the Jahan Park on Sunday for the Whites and Blacks to step up their training plans to get back to full fitness ahead of the new season.

Wa United FC stormed the 2021 regional league with authority and rose to the challenge but was only denied division one league through an infamous playoff.

The high flying Zebras strengthened their squad after the fairytale season and there is a lingering possibility that they will do even better in the upcoming season.
