Lawyer Bede Ziedeng urged Nurses to prioritize patients over phone calls

The Member of Parliament for Lawra Constituency, Hon. Bede Ziedeng has called on Nurses to abandon phone calls when they are attending to patients.

He said nurses should be more professional and proactive in the discharge of their duties to enhance quality health care delivery.

He mentioned that some Nurses sometimes will be on phone calls instead of having more time and care for the patients and a lot of complains are coming from the public in the various facilities.

He advised Nurses and all health professionals to be circumspect in their line of work to save lives despite the challenges abound.

The Member of Parliament made this call over the weekend in Lawra during the Celebration of the International Nurses Day with the Theme; “ a voice to Lead – Invest in Nursing and respect Rights to secure Global Health”, by the Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwifes Association- LAWRA BRANCH.

The Lawra Branch Chairman for the Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwifes Association, Mr. Paschal Paaku Kob in his address mentioned that, nurses have been confronted with so many challenges in their duties that affect better health care delivery.

He said despite the challenges Nurses are working hard to provide quality service to their clients to improve healthcare.
