The Chief Executive Officer of Youth Employment Agency, Justin Kodua Frimpong will be in Wa in the Upper West Region to inspect progress of work at the multipurpose youth resource center.

The $1.8m facility was suppose to be completed 9 months after commencement of work in May 2018 but suffered setbacks along the line.

The Youth Employment Agency boss is set to visit the project site on Monday, 25th July, 2022 to ascertain the level of completion for a possible commissioning in the next few weeks.

The Five Thousand FIFA standard facility in Wa when completed will boast of 3 popular stands and a VIP stand.

The facility will also have a multi-purpose indoor sports center fitted with gyms, change rooms and IT center.

There is also expected to be a restaurant and an open air convertible space for outdoor programmes.

The Upper West Region is faced with inadequate sports infrastructure which affects the growth and development of talents.

The region is currently having only one sports facility which is not even fit for purpose due to its dilapidated nature.

The stands have become death traps and the pitch is terrible which would impinge on the performance of even the finest and fittest of players.

Players find it difficult to cope with the awkward bounce of the ball, occasionally the wicked change in direction when it bounces off an undulated part of the pitch.

The faith of the region hangs on the the completion of the project as it will certainly bring back the glory days of the region as a befitting facility will be available for sports activities.
