Spirited Ismail Ganiyu Monopolising Airwaves As Upper West Region Watched His Debut Performance

It must be a dream debut for highly fancied Kotoko center back, Ishmail Abdul Ganiu as the Black Stars of Ghana drew 1-1 with their South Africa counterparts.

Football fans in the Upper West Region had their eyes glued to the Television as they watched the debut of their beleaguered son at the Senior National team level.

Ajax midfielder Mohammed Kudus broke the virginity of the game in the 49th minute but the lead lasted for only two minutes as Percy Tau pulled parity with a low strike.

South Africa pushed forward in search of the winner but for the timely clearance by the Wa-Sokpayiri born, the Black Stars came out of the game unscathed.

Almost all football watching centers were parked to capacity in the Upper West Region as people moved from their rooms to catch a glimpse of their own son who ceremoniously announced his presence in the Black Stars.

Ismail Ganiu has turned into a monster with his positional awareness and work rate beyond adjectival description.

His debut could not have been better as he gallantly helped Ghana to qualify for the next Africa Cup of Nations to be staged in Cameroon.

He has been the topic for discussion by football fans and pundits in the region right from the build up to his debut and many expects similar performance on Sunday against Sao Tome at the Accra Sports Stadium.

The Black Stars are through after picking 10 points from five matches following their latest draw at the FNB stadium in Johannesburg in South Africa.
