UWR: Regional Chief Imam Educational Endowment Fund’s first beneficiaries unveiled

The first beneficiaries of the Upper West Regional Chief Imam’s educational endowment fund have been revealed by Office of the Chief Iman.

The Office through a press conference read by the Secretary of the fund board, Abdul Rahman Zakaria on 4th January announced that the fund has supported sixteen (16) students for the 2022/2023 academic year.

He revealed they have received 18 applications of which applicants were vetted and interviewed by the Evaluation and Assessment Committee of the Fund before selection.

According to him, the Regional Chief Imam Educational Endowment Fund has paid the school fees of 15 applicants, and the hostel fees of one applicant.

The total amount spenspentfar on applicants was revealed to be Ghs 33, 003.48.

The Upper West Regional Chief Imam Educational Endowment Fund was launched in October last year, 2022 to provide support to brilliant but needy students.

Mr. Zakaria Abdul Rahman used the opportunity to call for more donations to the fund from various stakeholders.

He noted that the board has received fresh applications from numerous students seeking the support of the fund to further their education.
