UWR: Some NPP members declare support for Alan as 2024 flagbearer

Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen, a former minister of trade and industry, has received the backing of certain New Patriotic Party members in Wa, the Upper West Region, who want him to become the party’s flagbearer for the 2024 elections.

This information was made public on January 10, 2023, in a press conference by a group dubbed “Upper West for Alan” following Alan Kyerematen’s resignation to run for the NPP’s flagbearership.

Speaking at the press conference, the lead member, Mr. Sidik Marizuk, made it apparent that the former trade and industry minister under the administrations of former President Kuffour and President Nana, respectively, had demonstrated strong leadership and humility in his work.

According to him, 282 factories and 67 Business Resource Centers have been constructed around the nation under the revolutionary leadership of the venerable Alan Kyerematen as Trade and Industry Minister.

However, the group urged all candidates and their supporters to conduct their campaigns in a manner that complies with all laws and regulations in the next election.

“Alan Cash is for the grassroots and a unifier,” said Mr. Phillip Yaw Braimah, a former research and elections officer in the Upper West Region for the 2016 general elections, in a sideline speech.

“It is time for Alan and there is a need to support him strongly to win his ambition of becoming the flag bearer for the NPP.”

Some women who called themselves “Alan Special Ladies” declared that they are prepared to help Alan in unconventional ways to win the next Npp presidential primary as well as the 2024 presidential elections.
