Wa West DCE cuts sod for construction of a 60-bed dormitory for Wechiau Day SHS

The ground has been broken for the construction of a 60-bed dormitory for Wechiau Day Senior High School by Wa West District Chief Executive, Madam Vida Dioretey.

The Wa West District Chief Executive announced that the project, which will be used as the girls’ dormitory, will be constructed at a cost of GHC 720,000.

The Wechiau community founded the school three years ago without an appropriate teaching and learning infrastructure.

In a brief speech, the District Chief Executive, Madam Vida Diorotey, stated that the dormitory’s construction is meant to provide housing for students, particularly female students, as a means of closing the school’s infrastructure gap.

While praising the Chiefs and residents of Wechiau for providing the land for the project’s construction, she said that the project is supported by the district assembly via the federal government.

She pleaded with the populace to help the contractor complete the job successfully by lending their support.

She stated that the contract should be finished before the end of the year and will be handed over to the school for usage.

But she sent the contractor a warning that shallow work and delays in finishing the project will not be tolerated.

Anasigi Ghana Limited’s Mr. Abdul Samad, the project’s contractor, guaranteed to deliver high-quality work on time.

Amatus D. Tug-uu, the district director of education for Wa West, praised the Assembly for the initiative while reiterating his belief that, if completed, the project will significantly advance development and raise the standard of instruction in the school.

The Chiefs and people of Wechiau thanked the government for their assistance through the District Chief Executive for Wa West.
