GFA Approves Change of Name for Liberty Professionals Football Club to Hohoe United Football Club Limited

In a significant development for the Ghanaian football scene, Liberty Professionals Football Club has received official approval from the Ghana Football Association (GFA) for a change of name.

The club will now be known as Hohoe United Football Club Limited, reflecting the recent changes in its ownership structure.

Following the submission of the necessary documents, including the incorporated documents and registration details from the Registrar General’s Department, Hohoe United Football Club Limited has been issued a new registration number, CS148720721, and Tax Identification Number (TIN), C0061048259.

These documents were duly acknowledged by the GFA.

The decision to change the club’s name was prompted by the recent alterations in the ownership structure, as outlined in the letter sent by Liberty Professionals Football Club to the GFA.

The club, formerly known as Liberty Professionals Football Club, has undergone changes to its ownership, necessitating a rebranding to reflect the new structure.

The GFA, recognizing the club’s compliance with legal requirements and the legitimate reasons behind the name change, has granted its approval for the switch.

The GFA’s approval signifies that Hohoe United Football Club Limited is now officially recognized under the Companies Act, 1963 (Act 179), and is operating within the parameters of the law.

As a result of this approval, all the rights, obligations, and responsibilities associated with the former Liberty Professionals Football Club will be transferred to Hohoe United Football Club Limited.

The GFA emphasizes that any contracts, agreements, or commitments entered into by Liberty Professionals Football Club before the name change will remain valid and will be honored by Hohoe United Football Club Limited.

Hohoe United Football Club Limited is poised to carry forward the rich legacy established by Liberty Professionals Football Club and aims to make a significant impact in Ghanaian football.

The General Secretary of the GFA, Prosper Harrison Addo, Esq., expressed his support for the name change, stating, “The GFA acknowledges and approves the change of name for Liberty Professionals Football Club to Hohoe United Football Club Limited.

We believe that this change marks an exciting new era for the club, and we wish Hohoe United Football Club Limited all the best in their future endeavors.”

With the official approval now in place, Hohoe United Football Club Limited can focus on its upcoming plans, including team building, player recruitment, and preparation for the upcoming football seasons.
