The Member of Parliament for Jirapa, Cletus Seidu Dapilah, has expressed his views on the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) chances of winning the 2028 general elections. According to him, the NPP’s prospects look bleak, and the party may struggle to make an impact beyond electing a flag bearer.
Dapilah attributes the NPP’s dwindling fortunes to the strong performance of the President John Dramani Mahama-led administration and the National Democratic Congress (NDC). He believes that the NDC’s development agenda and policy initiatives are gaining traction, particularly in areas such as infrastructure, social welfare, and economic management.
The Jirapa MP also criticizes the NPP for their past governance record, stating that voters are unlikely to forget the hardships experienced under their watch. In contrast, he emphasizes the NDC’s commitment to delivering on its mandate and strengthening governance institutions.
Dapilah’s comments suggest that the NDC is confident about its chances in the 2028 elections, and the party is focused on building on its achievements rather than engaging in political rhetoric. Only time will tell how the political landscape unfolds, but for now, the NDC seems to be holding a strong position.
