The Member of Parliament for the Lawra Constituency, Hon. Bede Ziedeng, on Monday, July 13, 2026, generously donated essential logistics and operational equipment, valued at GH¢130,000, to the Lawra Traditional Council and the local judiciary.
The donated items included 660 plastic chairs and two brand-new motorbikes. The plastic chairs and one motorbike were allocated to the Traditional Council to facilitate meetings and enhance mobility, while the other motorbike was presented to the Circuit Court in Lawra to support its daily judicial operations.

This significant donation is intended to bolster local justice delivery and enhance the administrative efficiency of traditional leaders within the Lawra Municipality of the Upper West Region.
During his address prior to the presentation, the MP stated that the donation fulfilled a pledge he had made to the Chiefs, responding to their earlier appeal for these items during a visit to the Lawra Naa palace. He emphasized that this initiative also forms part of his broader commitment to improving the lives of constituents in all sectors, including support for traditional authorities. He further reassured the Chiefs of his unwavering dedication to enhancing the living conditions of the people in the district. Hon. Bede urged the Chiefs to ensure proper maintenance of the donated items, so they may serve their intended purposes effectively and durably across the various palaces within the Traditional Council.
The District Chief Executive for the Lawra Municipality, Mad. Cecilia Soyelleh, who attended the event, extended her sincere gratitude to the MP for his benevolent gesture, remarking that “the MP is a man of his words.” She further commended the Honorable Member for his collaborative efforts with the assembly in his various activities and for his dedication to improving the lives of the district’s residents. The MCE also reaffirmed the assembly’s commitment to the welfare of the Chiefs and assured them that the assembly would thoroughly consider their appeal for the renovation of the palace to ensure it is fit for purpose.
On behalf of the Chiefs, Naa Volkur Nyuure Tanga IV, divisional Chief of Eremon, conveyed his profound appreciation and gratitude to the Member of Parliament for the generous donations, which will significantly bolster their chieftaincy activities across the various palaces within the Traditional Council. He also reiterated an appeal for the renovation of their meeting venue and office located within the palace.
