Former President John Dramani Mahama has lauded P & W Ghanem Limited, a renowned construction firm based in Wa and popularly known as “Wadith”, for its remarkable contributions to road infrastructure development in the Upper West Region and across Ghana.
Speaking during a sod-cutting ceremony for the construction of the Wa–Tumu–Navrongo Road—a project covering over 200 kilometers under the government’s “Big Push” infrastructure agenda—Mr. Mahama praised the company’s long-standing dedication to national development.
“This is a great man, and he deserves a national honor from Ghana,” the former President stated. “He has dedicated his entire life to living and working in Ghana. When I was a young man, he built most of the roads we are now rehabilitating under the Big Push. May God continue to bless him with long life so he can continue his good works for Ghana, particularly in the Upper West Region.”
Mr. Mahama further acknowledged P & W Ghanem’s extensive work in the Savannah Region, highlighting the firm’s construction of dams along key road networks that have provided potable water and supported dry-season farming for surrounding communities.
He expressed optimism that the founder’s legacy would be preserved under the leadership of his son, who currently manages the company, urging him to uphold the same commitment and excellence that have defined the firm’s reputation for decades.
“His father’s work speaks volumes,” Mahama added. “It is now the responsibility of the next generation to continue building on that legacy of integrity and service to Ghana.”
The event drew community members, regional officials, and stakeholders in the road construction sector, all of whom expressed appreciation for the company’s enduring service to national development.
