UWR: Group Eulogizes Speaker Bagbin’s Impact In His First Two Years
A youth coalition group, Upper West Youth For Progress and Development has praised the speaker of Parliament, Rt Hon. Alban S.K Bagbin for his contribution to the Upper West Region since being elected Speaker of Ghana’s Parliament.
The group, at a press soire held at the Wa Regional Library on 12th January 2023, highlighted some interventions undertaken by Rt Hon Speaker Alban Bagbin in a powerpoint presentation, compiled by Ismail Saani Abacha and Awudu Ishaq.
In two years as Speaker of Parliament, Rt Hon Speaker Alban Bagbin has lobbied for, initiated, and or funded the following projects.
The detail list of various projects undertaken by Rt Hon Speaker Alban Bagbin are seen below:
1. The Renovation of The Wa Sports Stadium
2. Ongoing construction of a Six Unit Classroom at Sombo Senior High School which has been completed
3. Ongoing construction of a one-story Administration Block for Sombo Senior High School
4. Ongoing Construction of a two-story hostel at Sombo Senior High School
5. Ongoing construction of a fence wall for Sombo Senior High School
6. Ongoing construction of a six-unit classroom Block with a library at Takpo Senior High School
7. Ongoing construction of a two-unit two bedroom Teachers’ Bungalow at Takpo Senior High School
8. Ongoing construction of an ultra-modern place of convenience at Takpo Senior High School
9. Ongoing construction of a two-unit KG Block at Takpo Tendaanba Basic School
10. Ongoing Construction of a two-unit KG Block with ancillary facilities at Naro Islamic School
11. Ongoing construction of an Olympic-size Astro Turf Pitch at McCoy College of Education, Nadowli
12. Completed the construction of a six-unit classroom Block with a modern Place of Convenience at Kaluri Basic School
13. Ongoing construction of an ultra-modern 2,000 seater capacity Auditorium for Wa Senior High School
14. Support for the ongoing construction of a Maternity Facility at Yaala Number Two.
15. Donations of various kinds to different projects in the Upper West Region and beyond.
Alban S. K Bagbin is the former MP for the Nadowli Kaleo constituency and was elected the speaker of the 8th Parliament of Ghana on 7th, January 2021.
