The multi-purpose dining project at Babile, located in the Lawra Municipality of the Upper West Region, is steadily progressing. This was disclosed by the contractor, Mr. Solomon Agambire, on Friday, November 6, 2026, when Home Radio visited the site to ascertain the progress of the work. In an interview, Mr. Solomon indicated, “We commenced in May, just a few months ago. Because I possess the necessary capacity, I was able to mobilize all the materials up to the roofing level, which is why the construction has advanced so rapidly.”
“My primary challenge is payment. Up to now, as I am currently at the roofing stage, I have not received a single pesewa from the government. They have not paid me yet, so it is entirely through my own funding that I have brought the work to this level.” He added that, “In terms of overall progress, I am currently at 70%.”
“My message [to the government] is that for contractors who have the ability and personal resources to construct buildings swiftly, timely payments should follow so that we can successfully complete the structures for the clients to utilize.”
So: initiated a few months ago in May, self-financed to 70% (roofing stage), and I am now appealing to the government to pay capable contractors promptly so they can finish their projects.
