Hon Dr. Rashid Hassan Pelpuo Joins Green Ghana Campaign

Ranking Member on Lands and Natural resources in parliament who double as the member of parliament for Wa Central Constituency, Dr Hassan Rashid Pelpuo, has joined the nationwide tree planting exercise initiated by the ministry of Lands and Natural resources.

The seasoned lawmaker led the planting assist with a symbolic planting ceremony ahead of similar feat in his native Wa Central constituency.

Ghana is embarking on a 5 million tree planting program across the the county as part of plants to halt the fast depleting vegetation .

Speaking after the mini planting program, Hon Rashid Pelpuo urged Ghanaians to make it a habit of planting and nurturing trees so as to salvage the depleting environment.

The evergreen Political figure pleaded with the state machinery not to make it a nine day won’t but rather apply all the seriousness it deserves as a flagship programme.

On the state of Ghana’s climate and weather, Hon Rashid Pelpuo cited the failure of Government to tackle illegal mining and destruction of our lands and Forest reserve. The Wa Central MP then offered to support a more serious approach to reclaim and prevent further destruction of Ghana’s natural resources.

Upper West region as a whole is expected to plant an impressive 199,000 trees at the end of the program.
