Injury News: Hearts of Oak SC Rocked By Late Injuries Ahead of WAC Clash In CAF Champions League

Ghana’s sole representative in the 2021/22 CAF inter-club competition Accra Hearts of Oak SC have been rocked by late injuries ahead of their clash with Moroccan side WAC.

The 2000 CAF Champions League crushed Guinean side CI Kamsar in the opening rounds of fixtures in the CAF Champions league and will have to eliminate Wydad Athletic Club to keep their continental football alive.

Samuel Boadu and his technical team however received bad news from the treatment ahead of the winner takes all clash with two of the Phobian stars grounded by injuries.

442gh.com understands that central defender, Caleb Amankwa, has been ruled out of the weekends’ clash due to injury to leave Samuel Boadu with limited pool of defenders for the game.

Caleb Amankwa, who joined from Aduana Stars FC after a stellar spell with WAFA SC, eased his way into the starting XI of Accra Hearts of Oak SC and was heavily tipped to earn a starting berth for the clash with WAC.

The lanky centre back is joined by midfield maestro, Emmanuel Nettey, on the treatment table in what has been described a big blow to the Phobian dreams.

Nettey fine tuned the playing pattern of Accra Hearts of Oak SC with his unique passing range and is usually seen as the leader for the Phobians in terms of game control and tempo.

Samuel Boadu will have to find a way of replacing the duo ahead of Sunday’s clash with WAC.
