Hon. Dr. Rashid Pelpuo, Ghana’s Minister for Labour, Jobs, and Employment, who is currently in india visited Virupaksha Pharmaceuticals’ research and administration department in Telangana, India.
The visit aimed to explore potential partnership opportunities between Ghana and Virupaksha Pharmaceuticals, leveraging India’s expertise in the pharmaceutical sector to benefit Ghana’s healthcare industry.
Chief Abdul Salam Selorm Morgan Agbortui, who is leading the investors to Ghana and also Lawyer Samira Abdul-Azeez, deputy Chief Executive Officer of Ghana Enterprise Agency ( GEA) joined the Hon Minister in the trip as part of plans to secure external partnership.
During his visit, Minister Pelpuo was impressed by Virupaksha Pharmaceuticals’ state-of-the-art research facilities and commitment to developing high-quality active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs). He expressed interest in collaborating with the company to enhance Ghana’s pharmaceutical industry, potentially leading to the local production of essential medicines.
The minister’s visit to Virupaksha Pharmaceuticals underscores the strong bilateral relations between Ghana and India, with both countries seeking to deepen their cooperation in the pharmaceutical sector.
This potential partnership is expected to yield significant benefits for Ghana, including improved access to essential medicines and enhanced healthcare delivery.
