The Member of Parliament for the Lawra Constituency in the Upper West Region, Bede A. Ziedeng, has officially cut the sod for the construction of a 2,500-seater multipurpose dining hall at Brifor Senior High School. The ceremony, held on Thursday, 9 April 2026, marks a significant step toward improving educational infrastructure within the Lawra Municipality. The initiative reflects ongoing efforts to enhance the learning environment and support the growing student population in the area.
The project, which has been approved and funded by the Ghana Education Trust Fund, is expected to be one of the largest dining hall facilities constructed in a senior high school in Ghana. Its multipurpose design is intended not only to serve as a dining facility but also to accommodate large academic and social gatherings, thereby addressing multiple infrastructural needs within the school.
Speaking at the ceremony, the Member of Parliament emphasized that the project is scheduled for completion within a 12-month period following commencement. He noted that timely execution and adherence to quality standards would be critical to ensuring that the facility delivers long-term value to the school and its stakeholders.
In addition to this development, Mr. Ziedeng reaffirmed his commitment to advancing educational infrastructure across the municipality. He indicated that efforts are ongoing to lobby for similar projects in other senior high schools within the Lawra Constituency, with the aim of promoting equitable access to improved learning facilities and enhancing overall educational outcomes in the region.
